Clearly, I do not need to watch the new Lady Gaga video…

…because I’ve seen GIFs of it all over my dash today. So that takes care of that. (And yeah, she looks great in it, but the video isn’t gonna make me like the song any more, despite some people’s vigorous defence of ‘Born This Way’.)

Some quick mp3 library statistics (Or: my Pokemans, let me show you them)

(listed in descending order by artist & # of tracks by same)

  • The Black Keys - 89 tracks (!)
  • U2 - 72 tracks
  • Depeche Mode - 49 tracks
  • The Rolling Stones - 46 tracks
  • Warren Zevon - ditto
  • Bob Dylan - 44 tracks
  • Garbage - ditto
  • Lady Gaga - 38 tracks
  • Radiohead - ditto
  • Metric - 35 tracks
  • Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - 31 tracks
  • REM - ditto
  • Girl Talk - 30 tracks (all of which I’ve listened to exactly once!)
  • Nirvana; Martha Wainwright - ditto

Just bubbling under are INXS with 28 tracks, Bat For Lashes tied with the Beatles at 25 songs apiece, Goldfrapp at 24, Leonard Cohen at 23, Kylie Minogue at 22 and David Bowie at 21.

None of this really proves anything, but I found it interesting.
