I don’t do Christmas songs. I had toxic exposure to ‘The Little Drummer Boy’ as a child; I was forced to sing Lennon’s “Merry Christmas (War Is Over)” as part of a choir in a school concert; plus, for the last six weeks, I’ve been subjected to carols and the like every time I go shopping. (There’s something fundamentally wrong about hearing ‘Walking In A Winter Wonderland’ whilst in a southern hemisphere summer.)
However, I do believe in karma, and in human decency. In doing the right thing, and in taking responsibility when intentions go awry. Which can be difficult at times, granted…but if you give yourself permission to make mistakes…to be human…perhaps that’s the best gift you can give yourself, and those around you.
